Om denna resa

Students aged 13–17 travelling in groups or with supervision who want a high-energy summer in one of the world’s most exciting cities. Tokyo in June–August is vibrant, busy and very hot - full of festivals, street life, anime and culture at every turn. Best suited to mature, curious students who are ready for a big-city experience, including travelling to and from school on a busy public transport system, with plenty of social and cultural activities throughout their stay.

Students live in an international residence alongside other students from around the world, as well as local Japanese residents. All residences are located within a maximum of 45 minutes’ travel time to the school and offer shared facilities such as bathrooms, laundry and vending machines.

Lärande bortom klassrummet

Dagliga aktiviteter och utflykter är noggrant utformade för att förstärka lärandet i klassrummet. Eleverna övar aktivt språket i verkliga situationer och använder det de lär sig på lektionerna i autentiska kulturella och sociala upplevelser.

Nivåtest i början, löpande bedömning och avslut med ett EF Course Certificate och EF Global Experience Certificate.

Orientation Walk

Students will be guided on a tour of the school building and the surrounding Shibuya Station area to familiarize themselves with the best exits and restaurants for their daily breaks. This walk is designed to help everyone feel confident navigating the heart of Tokyo, and the tour will end with a group picture taken right in front of Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

Asakusa

Asakusa

Asakusa is the best place for students to experience the atmosphere of ancient Japan. It is home to Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest and most famous Buddhist temple, which has been a spiritual center for over 1,300 years. Students can enjoy street food and buy souvenirs at shopping street.

Harajuku

Harajuku

Harajuku is a center of pop culture in Japan. Students will walk Takeshita street, one of the busiest shopping street, and experience the KAWAII culture. Students can also enjoy a street food like Famous for sweet crêpes, long spiral potatoes, and Korean-style cheese dogs.

Ikebukuro Safety Center

Ikebukuro Safety Center

Students can have fun while learning about disaster prevention knowledge and skills; through experiences such as, earthquake tremors, initial fire extinction, first aid, and evacuation from fire smoke.

Imperial Palace

Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace is located on the former site of Edo Castle. Students can visit the East Garden, which features a beautiful Japanese-style garden and an on-site museum. The gates and buildings are in the Edo style, making students feel as if they have stepped back into the 1600s.

Teamlabs

Teamlabs

It's "body immersive" museum. Students will walk through water up to your knees, step on giant soft "black holes," and wander through a garden of real floating orchids. Students can enjoy a new style of museum.

Enoshima

Enoshima

Enoshima is a beautiful tidal island connected to the mainland by a 400-meter bridge. Students can enjoy a full day of exploration at Enoshima island, visiting the three unique shrines that make up the Enoshima Shrine complex. The journey continues to the Iwaya Caves, where students can explore natural sea grottoes filled with ancient legends. For the best views, students can climb the observation tower to enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the coast.

Akihabara

Akihabara

Akihabara is the heart of anime and manga culture. Students can enjoy playing crane games and visiting multi-story arcades. There are many shops filled with anime and manga goods, where students can fully experience Japan’s world-famous pop culture.

Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park

Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park

Students visit a shrine surounded by a forest in the middle of Tokyo. While visiting and walking thought, students will learn a history, Japanese religion and manners. At Yoyogi park next to the shrine, students can enjoy season flowers and play some sports.

Edo Museum

Edo Museum

The museum has a life-size reproduction of a Tokyo streetscape from the closing years of the Edo period (1603–1867). Students can learn the lifestyles of the people at the time and see the homes they lived in and the daily goods they used.

Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is Tokyo’s iconic 333m red tower, standing tall as the heart of the city. Students will be guided up to the Main Deck (150m) to witness a breathtaking 360-degree skyline of one of the world’s largest metropolises. On a clear sunny day, even Mt. Fuji can be spotted in the distance. Students will also experience the thrill of walking across the famous "Skywalk Window" glass floors.

Yomiuriland

Yomiuriland

Students will spend a day at Yomiuriland, the largest amusement park in Tokyo. There are thrilling roller coasters and unique attractions. Students can take a gondola to see the park from the above.

Pokemon & Nintendo shop

Pokemon & Nintendo shop

Students can see life-sized statues of Pokemon and find exclusive merchandise only available in Japan.It is a great chance for students to have fun and find a unique souvenir for their family and friends.

Gotokuji temple

Gotokuji temple

Students can see thousands of white cat figurines (Manekineko) placed around the temple grounds and learn about the Japanese legend of the cat that saved a samurai from a lightning storm. The tour is a great chance to see traditional architecture and learn about the cultural importance of lucky charms in Japan.

Nezu shrine

Nezu shrine

Students can see the stunning tunnel of thousands of miniature red torii gates and explore the traditional Edo-period architecture of the main buildings. Students can also learn about Japanese customs by practicing shrine prayers and visiting the peaceful pond filled with lucky turtles and koi fish.

Baseball batting cage

Baseball batting cage

Students will visit a baseball batting cage to experience one of Japan’s most popular sports. It is a great chance for students to have fun and exercise.

Yokohama tour

Yokohama tour

Students will visit Yokohama, the second-largest city in Japan, to explore its famous Chinatown. Students can see the colorful traditional gates and enjoy chinese foods. The tour also includes the Cup Noodles Museum, where students will design their own custom cup noodles to take home.
