Att använda "Hate", "Like" och "Love"
Verben hate, love, like och prefer följs vanligtvis av ett gerundium när de har en allmän betydelse, och av infinitiv när de syftar på en speciell tid eller situation. Du måste alltid använda infinitiv tillsammans med uttrycken would love to, would hate to, etc. Dessa verb kan också följas av en that-sats eller av ett substantiv.

- I hate to tell you, but Uncle Jim is coming this weekend.
- I hate looking after elderly relatives!
- I hate mushrooms.
- I hate that he lied to you.
- I love dancing.
- I love to dance at the jazz club.
- I would love to dance with you.
- I love ballet.
- I love that you remembered my birthday!
